Dr. Duane Chassie Founder and President
Dr. Duane Chassie is the founder and president of A Place Called Hope Inc. He has served in several nonprofit organizations, providing leadership both domestically and internationally. He and his wife began their first rehab program for female drug abusers in 1981 and later pioneered a men’s program in central Florida, where he served for 28 years as the Executive Director. Dr. Chassie also served on the board of directors for Youth Challenge Int. as the secretary and treasurer for over 20 years and helped to provide leadership and oversight for a variety of social programs in six nations. Dr. Chassie has been recognized by local and state officials and on a national level, including receiving two very prestigious awards—the first being a proclamation, ‘Dr. Duane Chassie Day,’ from the City of Wildwood, FL, and “The Achievement Against All Odds Award” from the National Center of Neighborhood Enterprise in Washington, DC—for making a major impact in reducing drug abuse and crime throughout the state of Florida. His wife, Gloria, serves as the resident director for APCH.
